Ephesians 6: And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

The Power of God's Word

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and Spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart.

The Holy Scriptures are the word of God, and with it, we can fight and defeat all enemies.

When God impresses it upon us through His Spirit, it convinces, converts, and comforts powerfully. It transforms a soul that has been proud to be humble and a rebellious spirit to be meek and obedient. Sinful habits that have become second nature and deeply embedded in the soul are separated and cut off by this sword. It will reveal thoughts and purposes, the corruption of many, the poor principles that drive them, and the sinful goals they pursue. The word will expose the sinner all that is in his heart.

Honor God's word by studying it. Daily walk by its light and feed on its nourishment. Our awareness of sin and its consequences should lead us to the question: What must we do to be saved?

Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I consumed them. Your words were joy, and my heart delighted because I bear your name, Lord God of the Heavenly Armies.

Ephesians 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times with every kind of prayer and request.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Prayer brings together all the other parts of our Christian armor. Oswald Chambers compares constant prayer to breath in our lungs and blood from our hearts. Our blood flows, and our breathing continues "without ceasing."

Prayer is always answered, one way or another. It is an essential and effective tool in spiritual warfare and is crucial for achieving victory.

Matthew 7:8 Everyone who asks receives.

Prayer acts as a complement to our Helmet of Salvation. When we find our thoughts turning to worry, fear, discouragement, or anger, we should consciously and swiftly transform every negative thought into prayer and every prayer into thanksgiving.

Philippians 4:6 Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation, let your petitions be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer. Be alert and thankful when you pray.

Prayer should be our first response to every fearful situation, every anxious thought, and every challenging task that God asks us to undertake. Failing to pray can lead us to rely on our own strength rather than trusting in God's grace. In essence, unceasing prayer represents continuous dependence on and communion with God the Father.

Acts 2:19-21 I will display wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth below: blood, fire, and clouds of smoke.  The sun will become dark, and the moon turn to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.

None will escape the condemnation of the great day, except those who call upon the name of the Lord.  Before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord, call on the name of the Lord and be saved!

Romans 10:13 Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

Calling on God supposes:

Knowledge of Him

Faith in Him

Desire toward Him

Dependence on Him
and, as evidence of the sincerity of all of this

Conscientious obedience to Him

Call upon the name of the Lord in and through His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior of sinners and the judge of all mankind.

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. And the Light shines in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

In these verses, John is calling the Son of God "The Word." Just as we explain what we are thinking in our minds to others, the Son of God was sent to reveal His Father's mind to the world. He is life, He is light, and He is eternal. Reason and sense are derived from Him and depend upon Him. The Word shines true Light into darkness, and the darkness can never put out this Light.

The late Chuck Missler said, "We have in our possession an Integrated Message System: 66 separate books penned by 40 different individuals over two thousand years... in which every detail is anticipated by deliberate, skillful design!"

In my life, I have chosen to follow *this* Word as my guidebook to life. I have followed the Berean Challenge, which is stated in Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily to prove whether those things were so.

The challenge here is to eliminate any baggage of misconceptions and disinformation, as well as to remove presuppositions that may be incorrect.
Therefore, search the scriptures, for they are the only reliable source of the absolute truth. To search means to investigate, examine, enquire into, scrutinize, sift, and question, specifically in the forensic sense of a judge to hold an investigation; to judge, estimate, and determine (the excellence or defects) of any person or thing.

*You* search the scriptures. Don't assume what someone has told you is the truth. See for yourself. Have a "readiness of mind..." by putting away misconceptions and prejudices from inaccuracies and distortions about "Reality" and "science."

Let us pray without ceasing that our eyes may be opened to behold this Light, that we may walk in it, and then be made wise unto salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.

John 17:17  Sanctify them by the truth.  Your word is truth.

Since God’s Word is truth, rejecting the Bible is rejecting God Himself. Believing, loving, studying, and obeying God’s Word is the key to salvation, understanding God, and living abundantly. No matter what I may face in this world, I am sustained by the truth prayed over us in Jesus’ prayer: “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."

To know the truth, look in God’s written Word

Psalm 119:160 The sum of Your Word is Truth, and each righteous ordinance of Yours is everlasting.

The Word of God is inspired.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Bible is a sure guide to eternal life. The prophets and apostles did not speak from themselves but delivered what they received from God by way of the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

It is beneficial for all aspects of the Christian life. It serves everyone, as all require teaching, correction, and reproof. There is something in the Scriptures that is appropriate for every circumstance.

When the light of Scripture shines into a blind mind and dark understanding through the Holy Spirit of God, it is like the dawn breaking, gradually spreading and filling the entire soul until it brings forth the fullness of day.

Since Scripture reveals God's mind and will, everyone should study it to comprehend its meaning.

The Holy Spirit inspired holy men to speak and write. He guided them in conveying what they had received from Him, so that they could clearly express what they shared.

All the words of the Holy Spirit, all the plainness and simplicity, all the power of the words and expressions, come from God.

Combine your faith with the teachings found in the Scriptures, and hold the Bible in high regard as a work authored by holy men, guided by the Holy Spirit.

Job 4:4 A word from you has supported those who have stumbled and has strengthened faltering knees.

Psalm 119 contains 39 "Thy Word" verses:

9 How can one keep his behavior pure? By guardian it in accordance with Your word.

11 I have stored what You have said in my heart so that I won't sin against You.

16 I am delighted with Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

17 Deal kindly with your servant so I may live and keep Your word.

25 My soul clings to the dust; revive me according to Your word.

28 I weep because of sorrow; fortify me according to Your word.

38 Confirm Your word to Your servant, which is for those who fear You.

41 Let Your mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even Your salvation, according to Your word.

42 Then I can answer the one who insults me, for I place my trust in Your word.

50 This is what comforts me in my troubles: Your word revives me.

57 The Lord is my inheritance; I have given my promise to keep Your word.

58 I have sought Your favor with all of my heart; be gracious to me according to Your word - Your promise.

65 Lord, You have dealt well with Your servant, according to Your word.

67 Before I was humbled, I wandered away, but now I observe Your words.

74 May those who fear You see me and be glad, for I have hoped in Your word.

76 May Your gracious love comfort me in accordance with Your word - Your promise to Your servant.

81 I long for Your deliverance; I have looked to Your word, placing my hope in it.

82 My eyes grow weary with respect to Your word - what You have promised - I keep asking, "When will You comfort me?"

89 Your word is forever, Lord; it is firmly established in heaven.

101 I keep away from every evil choice so that I may keep Your word.

103 How sweet are Your words unto my taste-yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth.

105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my pathway

107 I am severely afflicted. Revive me, Lord, according to Your word.

114 You are my fortress and shield; I hope in Your word.

116 Sustain me, God, as You have promised in Your word, and I will live.

130 The disclosure of Your words illuminates, providing understanding to the simple.

133 Direct my footsteps by Your Word - Your promise, and do not let any kind of iniquity rule over me.

139 My zeal consumes me because my enemies forget Your words.

140 Your word is very pure, and Your servant loves it.

147 I get up before dawn and cry for help; I place my hope in Your word.

148 I look forward to the night watches, when I may meditate on Your word.

154 Defend my case and redeem me; revive me according to Your word - Your promise.

158 I watch the treacherous and despise them because they have not kept Your word.

160 The sum of Your word is truth, and each righteous ordinance of Yours is everlasting.

161 Though nobles persecute me for no reason, my heart stands in awe of Your words.

162 I find joy in Your word like one who has discovered a great treasure.

169 May my cry arise before You, Lord; give me understanding according to Your word.

170 Let my request come before You; deliver me, according to Your word.

172 My tongue shall speak of Your Word: for all Your commandments are righteous.

Psalm 138:2-3 I will bow down in worship toward Your holy Temple and give thanks to Your name for Your gracious love and truth, for You have done great things to carry out Your word consistent with Your name. When I called out, You answered me; You strengthened me.

He is ever faithful to His word. If He spared not His own Son, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? If God gives us strength in our souls to bear the burdens, resist temptations, hold on by faith, and walk patiently through an afflicted state, we are bound to be thankful.

Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I consumed them. Your words were joy and my heart's delight, because I bear your name, Lord God of the Heavenly Armies.

Living and Everlasting Word of God

1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not by a seed that perishes but by one that cannot perish - by the living and everlasting word of God.

A love of the Bible requires knowing your Bible; knowing your Bible leads to a deeper love of Him.

The Bible is 66 books, written by 40 authors, over thousands of years, yet:

It is an integrated message system, where every detail, every number, and every place name has mysterious significance;

Its origin is demonstrably from outside our domain of time itself: it proves its supernatural origin by describing history in advance.

Studying the Bible offers numerous benefits, including a deeper understanding of God, opportunities for spiritual growth, and practical wisdom for everyday life. It serves as a source of historical and literary insights, providing comfort and guidance during difficult times. As the written word of God, the Bible presents a unique perspective on life, history, and God's character.

As you study, look for hidden treasures in the Biblical text. Be free of presupposition, not seeking confirmation of prior beliefs. Remember Acts 17:11.

Acts 17:11 The Bereans were more receptive than those in Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive the message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if those things were so.

Searching for Hidden Treasures

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

Here are a few treasures I've found that have motivated me to pay attention to and watch out for unexpected topics.  The following are modern-day technologies that are anticipated in the Bible:

Weapons of Mass Destruction - Matthew 24:22

Smart Weapons - Jeremiah 50:9

Global News Coverage - Matthew 24:15; Revelation 11:8-10

Global Funds Transfer - Revelation 13:17

Pathways in the Sea - Psalm 8:8; Isaiah 43:16

Meteorological Cycle - Ecclesiastes 1:6-7; Job 36:27-28

Round Earth - Luke 17:34-36; Job 26:7

Hyperspaces - Ephesians 3:18
You have a personal Tutor in the Holy Spirit

John 14:26  but the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything that I have told you.

Keep a Journal

Document your journey into the supernatural. Your real, private tutor is the Holy Spirit Himself.
He will “teach you all things...” (Jn 16:13-15)

Ephesians 2:4-6 God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love for us, even when we were dead because of our offenses, made us alive together with the Messiah (by grace you have been saved, raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavnely realm in the Messiah jesus, so that in the coming ages He might display the limitless riches of His grace that comes to us through His kindness in the Messiah Jesus.

God isn't concerned with your past; what truly matters are the remarkable and individualized plans He has for your future. No matter what challenges you face, remember that God's love for you is unwavering. He deeply desires what’s best for you, even if it sometimes feels otherwise. Embrace the truth: if you have accepted Him as your Savior, you are a cherished child of the King of Kings, destined for greatness.

In God's mercy, He does not give us what we do deserve, and in His grace, He provides us with blessings, mercy, and grace we do not deserve.

Romans 5:8 God demonstrates His love for us by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners.

John 3:16 For this is how God loved the world: He gave His unique Son so that everyone who believes in him might not be lost but have eternal life.

Psalm 104:31 May the glory of the Lord last forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works!
