Ephesians 6: And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

The Power of God's Word

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and Spirit, joints and marrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart.

The Holy Scriptures are the word of God, and with it, we can fight and defeat all enemies.

When God impresses it upon us through His Spirit, it convinces, converts, and comforts powerfully. It transforms a soul that has been proud to be humble and a rebellious spirit to be meek and obedient. Sinful habits that have become second nature and deeply embedded in the soul are separated and cut off by this sword. It will reveal thoughts and purposes, the corruption of many, the poor principles that drive them, and the sinful goals they pursue. The word will expose the sinner all that is in his heart.

Honor God's word by studying it. Daily walk by its light and feed on its nourishment. Our awareness of sin and its consequences should lead us to the question: What must we do to be saved?

Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I consumed them. Your words were joy, and my heart delighted because I bear your name, Lord God of the Heavenly Armies.

Ephesians 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times with every kind of prayer and request.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Prayer brings together all the other parts of our Christian armor. Oswald Chambers compares constant prayer to breath in our lungs and blood from our hearts. Our blood flows, and our breathing continues "without ceasing."

Prayer is always answered, one way or another. It is an essential and effective tool in spiritual warfare and is crucial for achieving victory.

Matthew 7:8 Everyone who asks receives.

Prayer acts as a complement to our Helmet of Salvation. When we find our thoughts turning to worry, fear, discouragement, or anger, we should consciously and swiftly transform every negative thought into prayer and every prayer into thanksgiving.

Philippians 4:6 Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation, let your petitions be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer. Be alert and thankful when you pray.

Prayer should be our first response to every fearful situation, every anxious thought, and every challenging task that God asks us to undertake. Failing to pray can lead us to rely on our own strength rather than trusting in God's grace. In essence, unceasing prayer represents continuous dependence on and communion with God the Father.

Acts 2:19-21 I will display wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth below: blood, fire, and clouds of smoke.  The sun will become dark, and the moon turn to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.

None will escape the condemnation of the great day, except those who call upon the name of the Lord.  Before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord, call on the name of the Lord and be saved! 

Romans 10:13 Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

Calling on God supposes:

Knowledge of Him

Faith in Him

Desire toward Him

Dependence on Him
and, as evidence of the sincerity of all of this

Conscientious obedience to Him

Call upon the name of the Lord in and through His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior of sinners and the judge of all mankind.

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. And the Light shines in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

In these verses, John is calling the Son of God "The Word." Just as we explain what we are thinking in our minds to others, the Son of God was sent to reveal His Father's mind to the world. He is life, He is light, and He is eternal. Reason and sense are derived from Him and depend upon Him. The Word shines true Light into darkness, and the darkness can never put out this Light.

The late Chuck Missler said, "We have in our possession an Integrated Message System: 66 separate books penned by 40 different individuals over two thousand years... in which every detail is anticipated by deliberate, skillful design!"

In my life, I have chosen to follow *this* Word as my guidebook to life. I have followed the Berean Challenge, which is stated in Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily to prove whether those things were so.

The challenge here is to eliminate any baggage of misconceptions and disinformation, as well as to remove presuppositions that may be incorrect.
Therefore, search the scriptures, for they are the only reliable source of the absolute truth. To search means to investigate, examine, enquire into, scrutinize, sift, and question, specifically in the forensic sense of a judge to hold an investigation; to judge, estimate, and determine (the excellence or defects) of any person or thing.

*You* search the scriptures. Don't assume what someone has told you is the truth. See for yourself. Have a "readiness of mind..." by putting away misconceptions and prejudices from inaccuracies and distortions about "Reality" and "science."

Let us pray without ceasing that our eyes may be opened to behold this Light, that we may walk in it, and then be made wise unto salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.

John 17:17  Sanctify them by the truth.  Your word is truth.

Since God’s Word is truth, rejecting the Bible is rejecting God Himself. Believing, loving, studying, and obeying God’s Word is the key to salvation, understanding God, and living abundantly. No matter what I may face in this world, I am sustained by the truth prayed over us in Jesus’ prayer: “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."

To know the truth, look in God’s written Word

Psalm 119:160 The sum of Your Word is Truth, and each righteous ordinance of Yours is everlasting.

The Word of God is inspired.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Bible is a sure guide to eternal life. The prophets and apostles did not speak from themselves but delivered what they received from God by way of the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

It is beneficial for all aspects of the Christian life. It serves everyone, as all require teaching, correction, and reproof. There is something in the Scriptures that is appropriate for every circumstance.

When the light of Scripture shines into a blind mind and dark understanding through the Holy Spirit of God, it is like the dawn breaking, gradually spreading and filling the entire soul until it brings forth the fullness of day.

Since Scripture reveals God's mind and will, everyone should study it to comprehend its meaning.

The Holy Spirit inspired holy men to speak and write. He guided them in conveying what they had received from Him, so that they could clearly express what they shared.

All the words of the Holy Spirit, all the plainness and simplicity, all the power of the words and expressions, come from God.

Combine your faith with the teachings found in the Scriptures, and hold the Bible in high regard as a work authored by holy men, guided by the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 138:2-3 I will bow down in worship toward Your holy Temple and give thanks to Your name for Your gracious love and truth, for You have done great things to carry out Your word consistent with Your name. When I called out, You answered me; You strengthened me.

He is ever faithful to His word. If He spared not His own Son, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? If God gives us strength in our souls to bear the burdens, resist temptations, hold on by faith, and walk patiently through an afflicted state, we are bound to be thankful.

Living and Everlasting Word of God

1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not by a seed that perishes but by one that cannot perish - by the living and everlasting word of God.

A love of the Bible requires knowing your Bible; knowing your Bible leads to a deeper love of Him.

The Bible is 66 books, written by 40 authors, over thousands of years, yet:

It is an integrated message system, where every detail, every number, and every place name has mysterious significance;

Its origin is demonstrably from outside our domain of time itself: it proves its supernatural origin by describing history in advance.

Studying the Bible offers numerous benefits, including a deeper understanding of God, opportunities for spiritual growth, and practical wisdom for everyday life. It serves as a source of historical and literary insights, providing comfort and guidance during difficult times. As the written word of God, the Bible presents a unique perspective on life, history, and God's character.

As you study, look for hidden treasures in the Biblical text. Be free of presupposition, not seeking confirmation of prior beliefs. Remember Acts 17:11.

Acts 17:11 The Bereans were more receptive than those in Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive the message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if those things were so.

Searching for Hidden Treasures

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

Here are a few treasures I've found that have motivated me to pay attention to and watch out for unexpected topics.  The following are modern-day technologies that are anticipated in the Bible:

Document your journey into the supernatural. Your real, private tutor is the Holy Spirit Himself. 
He will “teach you all things...” (Jn 16:13-15)

Ephesians 2:4-6 God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love for us, even when we were dead because of our offenses, made us alive together with the Messiah (by grace you have been saved, raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavnely realm in the Messiah jesus, so that in the coming ages He might display the limitless riches of His grace that comes to us through His kindness in the Messiah Jesus.

God isn't concerned with your past; what truly matters are the remarkable and individualized plans He has for your future. No matter what challenges you face, remember that God's love for you is unwavering. He deeply desires what’s best for you, even if it sometimes feels otherwise. Embrace the truth: if you have accepted Him as your Savior, you are a cherished child of the King of Kings, destined for greatness.

In God's mercy, He does not give us what we do deserve, and in His grace, He provides us with blessings, mercy, and grace we do not deserve.

Romans 5:8 God demonstrates His love for us by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners.

John 3:16 For this is how God loved the world: He gave His unique Son so that everyone who believes in him might not be lost but have eternal life.

Psalm 104:31 May the glory of the Lord last forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works!

It is God's eternal love for us, not ours for Him, that ensures our final blessing.

1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Malachi 3:6 Because I, the Lord, don't change;

The love God has for you is unchanging. He loves you today just as much as when He gave His Son for you (Galatians 2:20; Titus 2:13-14), and He will continue to show His love for you (Romans 8:32).

James 1:17 Every generous act of giving and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father who made the heavenly lights in whom there is no inconsistency or shifting shadow.

Discover the genuine security that brings peace when you focus on this unchanging God!

It is in this changeless One that we live, move, and exist (Acts 17:28)

Equally merciful, mighty, and all-sufficient, Jesus Christ will forever be.

Desire to have your heart rooted in simple trust in free grace through the Holy Spirit, which will comfort your heart and make you resilient against delusion.

Ephesians 3:14-19 For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches, He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Realize the wealth you have here and how vast it is, and start to use it. Let these truths become realities in your life.

The inner being comes alive when Jesus is invited in (Ephesians 2:1). What does it mean to have the Holy Spirit empower the inner being? God controls our spiritual faculties, and we exercise them as we grow in the Word (Hebrews 5:12-14).
The Inner being can:

See - Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes so that I will observe amazing things from Your instruction.

Hear - Matthew 13:9 Let the person who has ears listen!

Taste - Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good! How blessed is the person who trusts in Him!

Feel - Acts 17:27 so that they might look for God, somehow reach for Him and find Him. He is never far from any one of us.

And he must be exercised - 1 Timothy 4:7-8 Train yourself to be godly. Physical exercise is of limited value, but Godliness is very dear, a pledge of life, both there and here.

Be cleansed - Psalm 51:7

Be washed by the Word - Ephesians 5:26 Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Fed of manna daily - Matthew 4:4 It is written, One must not live on bread alone, but on every word coming out of the mouth of God.

Renewed daily - 2 Corinthians 4:16 That's why we are not discouraged. No, even if outwardly we are wearing out, inwardly we are being renewed each and every day.

Grasp how wide and long and high and deep the love of Jesus Christ is.
Live in all four of these dimensions. Be filled with the fullness of God
Colossians 2:9-10 because all the essence of deity inhabits Him in bodily form. And you have been filled by Him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.
The means is the Holy Spirit - Ephesians 5:18 be filled with the Holy Spirit
and the measure is God Himself - Ephesians 4:11-16

1 Peter 1:15-16 Be holy in every aspect of your life, just as the one who called you is holy. For it is written, "You must be holy because I am holy."

God's love is pure. His love is flawless, having no selfishness, wickedness, or sin within it.
God's love is holy. The qualities of transcendence and purity characterize it.
God's love is a majestic, sacred love that goes far beyond anything creatures can manifest. No shadow of evil covers the brightness of the pure glory of the love of God.

God's holiness and purity are our ultimate standards, encompassing not only outward actions but also an inner transformation and dedication to God. The Holy Spirit enables believers to live a holy life. Through the Spirit, believers are empowered to overcome sin and grow in Christ-likeness.

Examples of holiness can be seen in acts of love, forgiveness, service to others, and obedience to God's Word. This change of behavior begins on the inside with our attitude and mindset. When our inner thought life, our purpose, and our character are transformed into the image of Christ, our outward selves and our behavior will naturally alter. (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Perfect Love Frees from Fear 

1 John 4:18 There is no fear where love exists; rather, perfect love banishes fear, for fear involves punishment, and the person who lives in fear has not been perfected in love.

When we look for perfect love, we find it only in the Lord Jesus Christ. It was manifested when He gave Himself on the cross for the world. It is the reflection of this love that expels all our fear.

Our love is far from perfect when we are burdened by doubts, fears, and concerns about God. Let both heaven and earth be amazed by His love. He sent His word to invite sinners to embrace this wonderful salvation. As they experience the transformative change within themselves, let them take comfort in it while giving Him the glory.

John 13:1 Now, before the Passover Festival, Jesus realized that His hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39)

1 John 4:16 We have come to know and rely on the love that God has for us. God is love, and the person who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Romans 8:9 You, however, are not under the control of human nature but under the control of the Spirit since God's Spirit lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of the Messiah, he does not belong to Him.   

John 14:17 He is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor recognizes him. But you recognize Him because He lives with you and will be in you.  

1 John 4:15 God abides in the one who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and He abides in God.

When you accept Christ as your Savior (Romans 10:9-13), the Holy Spirit takes up residence in your heart, bringing with Him an entirely new life of love, relationship, and service to the Lord.

Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and let a willing attitude control me.  

My heart is heavy with intense emotions and confusion. I pray for divine intervention to quiet my mind and bring inner peace. If I could but feel a breath of His presence, my mind would be soothed and calmed.

I must learn to enjoy Him in my heart. The enjoyment of an indwelling Lord is absolutely essential to proclaiming a living Christ with your mouth.

How much time have I been with God in the inner study with an open Bible and waited on Him? There, my weakness could have absorbed His strength, and His power and peace have calmed my restlessness and striving, and my impatience would have taken in the grace and patience of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Breathe through the heats of our desire, Thy coolness and Thy balm."

"Drop Thy still dews of quietness till all our striving cease; take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of Thy peace."

Psalm 23 He prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.

Communion with God is an urgent need of my soul. I thirst for the living water only the living God can provide. His constant fountain of life, light, and love is my soul's desire.

To see the face of God and to be seen by Him - I would come into His presence, and my thirst would be satisfied.

Hope in God! In the morning, after a dark and troubled night, I seek His face and hope to be saved out of my sadness. I search for the Words that put scorn on my laughing enemies. I desire with all my heart for joy to be restored, for the chains to be removed, and my prison walls shaken. Hope then in God. Seek His presence and be restored. Sow in your heart His words which "grow laurels of future victories, the roses of coming joy, the lilies of approaching peace." (Spurgeon)

I ask for my heart to be healed and restored, and I receive Your perfect peace. I ask for the oil of joy to be my portion. I put on the garment of praise, worshipping and honoring You. I receive freedom from all oppression in the name of Jesus!

Romans 5:5 Now, this hope does not disappoint us because God's love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

I am loved!

When a sorrowful, broken heart hears of a God who will love them unconditionally, no matter what, it soars in great joy and thankfulness. It warms and longs for His endearing Words and searches more and more for His mercy and grace. Surely, confidence in Him grows, and their cup runs over with this same love for others as the love God gives them.  

The Vehemency of Love

Song 8:6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.

The Great Force and Energy of Love

God is love - 1 John 4:16

This is love - that God sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins 1 John 4:10

I am passionate against anything that would draw me away from Jesus and His love. The fear of coming short of His love or the temptation to forsake Him ... the thought is most painful.

No water can quench His love for me, nor any flood draw it out.

The Love of Jesus Christ reaches me in my deep, deep need. His seal upon my heart settles our eternal relationship.

Ephesians 1:13 You, too, have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in The Messiah, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.

Four Characteristics of God's Love
The Strength of Love: Galatians 2:20 The Son of God loved me and gave Himself for me.
The Jealousy or passion of love: God's Jealousy is as pure as His love, and it is because He loves us so tenderly that He is jealous for our souls.
The endurance of love: Many waters cannot quench love. Psalm 42:7 Deep waters call out to what is deeper still at the roar of Your waterfalls, all Your breakers and Your waves swirled over me.
The Value of Love: His love to me creates love in me - 1 John 4:19, Romans 5:5. The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, which is given unto us.

I need, and I pray for, the Spirit of God to be upon me this day in a special way that is clearly noticeable. I struggle with Jealousy and anger. I fight insignificance. I fear being useless and unlovable. But if I believe in God's attributes and the Truth of Who He is, I must not feel this way. I need to feel His presence. I need the glory of God to appear to me. I need to believe and be carried from doubt to certainty and awareness of the glory of God- that I am His child forever and always, and He has a plan for me for a hope and a future.

Isaiah 49:18 Lift up your eyes and look around - they have all gathered together and are coming to you. "As surely as I live," says the Lord, "You will clothe yourself with all of them like ornaments and tie them on like a bride.

Perpetual love is love that occurs continually - Constant Love.
God's love is not dependent on human actions or feelings but is a steadfast and enduring aspect of His divine character. While human relationships and emotions can waver, God's love remains a constant amid life's ups and downs. It provides a foundation of security and hope.

Believing in God's constant love can provide comfort, strength, and a sense of security, especially during challenging times. It can also encourage trust in God's promises and faithfulness.

Those who have faith, hope, and patience wait on God for the fulfillment of His promises, and they shall never be confounded.

Five confirming verses of the perpetual love of God in your life:

John 3:16 For this is how God loved the world: He gave His unique Son so that everyone who believes in Him might not be lost but have eternal life.

Psalm 136:26 Give thanks to the God of Heaven, for His gracious love is everlasting.

Romans 5:8 but God demonstrates His love for us by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners.

1 Peter 5:7 Throw all your worries on Him because He cares for you.
