The Struggle is Real
October 19, 2024
Ephesians 6:12 Our struggle is not against human opponents but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers in the darkness around us, and evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realm.
Satan is an enemy who seeks to steal and kill and destroy God's purposes in my life. Many days I am heavy laden with burdens of my family and my surroundings. It is sadness and grief, seemingly hopes dashed and a bleak future where it plods on and on the same way with no change. I long for the Lord to speak to me and when I don't hear Him or can't hear Him, I become even more discouraged and close to despair. Melancholy overtakes me and I see to be walking in darkness.
Isaiah 42:16 I'll help the blind walk, even on a road they do no know; I'll guide them in directions they do not know. I'll turn the dark places into light in front of them, and the rough places into level ground. These things I will do and I won't abandon them.
He leads me along unknown paths and through new and strange experience so that I may learn how His sufficient grace can sustain me. I do not need to see the road ahead. It is only necessary for me to trust my Guide. He knows the end from the beginning and He never changes from His purpose of blessing. I will praise Him for all His dealings with me and will understand the reason for every trial.
Here are seven steps to ensure victory in an assault against the enemy:
- Recognize that it is a spiritual battle and that God is going ahead of you.
- Obey God's instructions, trust His strategy
- Do no focus on the seeming strength of the enemy
- Do not waver in confidence in God's Word.
- Refuse to be deterred by a lack of vision of those around you.
- Never compromise with the enemy.
- Give praise and glory to God for the victory
O Lord, help me to put my trust in You and receive strength and wisdom to fight my battles. I praise You in advance for victories that will bring honor and glory to Your name.
