Divine Rules from Heaven for Earth For a whole, rich life of a true, redeemed follower of God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.

In Proverbs, wisdom begins with God; His centrality is assumed throughout the book. The wise, upright, righteous, and godly are correlated. They are those who know the truth and know their God, and mirror this by their just and loving conduct toward others in accordance with divinely-approved principles. Good and evil are linked with reward and penalty, because God embodies both love and justice within Himself and thus promotes good and prevents evil.

The positive and negative principles outlined in Proverbs offer a valuable measure for assessing personal conduct. Jesus Christ encourages His disciples to be "wise as serpents" (Matt 10:16). The wisdom found in Proverbs serves as the Old Testament counterpart to the practical guidance presented in the New Testament letters. This is evident in the series of concise instructions and observations that make up much of this book, which address various aspects of daily life.

The book of Proverbs contains 31 chapters, making it perfect for a month-long study. You can read one chapter each day—once in the morning and again at night. You'll often find that the message of that day's chapter resonates with your daily experiences. Each proverb deserves thoughtful reflection and careful meditation. Together, they illustrate that God is concerned with every detail of our lives.

1 Kings 4:29-32 God gave Solomon wisdom and great discernment. His insights were as numerous as the sand on the seashore. Solomon was wiser than any of the eastern leaders and wiser than anyone in Egypt. He was wiser than anyone of his day-wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, Herman, and wiser than Mahol's sons Calcol and Darda. His reputation was known throughout the surrounding nations. Solomon wrote 3,000 proverbs and 1005 songs.
