Marching on Rugged Paths
March 7, 2025
Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
Spiritual readiness must be as greaves or armor to our legs, and to stand their ground or to march forward in rugged paths, the feet must be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusts in Thee.
Be encouraged that this perfect peace is inward and outward and peace with God. It is peace of conscience at all times and in all events.
Trust the Lord for that peace, that portion, which will be forever. Whatever we trust to the world for, it will last only for a moment; but those who trust in God shall not only find in Him but shall receive strength that will carry them to that sanctity which is forever. Let us then acknowledge Him in all our ways and rely on Him in all trials.
True peace is the blessing of the gospel. Peace grows from this good news, this joyful message of the revelation of Christ and the grace of God through Him. This good news is for you if you embrace the truth of Jesus Christ with arms of faith. This joy is your joy, and this is the everlasting gospel (Revelation 14)
Reasons to be Joyful and to Walk in His Peace
1 Peter 1:25 The word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Psalm 67:1 May God show us favor and bless us; may He truly show us His favor.
1 Corinthians 3:23 You are Christ's, and Christ is God's.
The Gospel is God in Jesus Christ reconciling a sinful world to Himself and pouring the riches of His grace on a reconciled world.
Feed the lamp of your joy with Holy oil - spiritual fuel from the gospel fountain. Walk in gospel peace by going to the throne of grace to receive the good news of where all your treasures lie, reading in the Word what God has done for you on earth and what He is doing for you in heaven.
Listen for promises that He will whisper to your heart.
James 5:13 Is any among you suffering? He should keep on praying. Is anyone cheerful? He should keep reciting psalms.
John 14:27 I am leaving you at peace. I am giving you my peace. I am not giving it to you as the world gives. So don't let your hearts be troubled, and don't be afraid.
The gospel, what is it but God's heart in print. The precious promises of the gospel, what are they but heaven's court rolls translated into the creature's language?
