Look Up - Keep Still

Look Up - Keep Still

January 23, 2025

Joshua 1:8 This set of instructions is not to cease being a part of your conversations. Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to carry out everything that's written in it, for then you'll prosper and succeed.

Keeping God's word in my heart at all times, will keep me from complaining and from being mournfully sad. It helps me to consider all the good things - all the blessings, the safety and shelter He has provided.

Wrap all your sad memories into a nice package because it is a gift. A gift that allowed you to go through severe trials and tribulations so that you would learn and grow in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Lay this package at the foot of the cross and determine to be thankful the rest of your days for all the many blessings you have enjoyed despite your trials.

Always remember that you are no longer allowed to be mournfully sad. Look up for the salvation of the Lord.

Exodus 14:13-14 Moses told the people, "Don't be afraid! Stand still and watch how the Lord will deliver you today because you will never again see the Egyptians whom you're looking at today. The Lord will fight for you while you keep still."

The Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army. What an impossible situation they found themselves in. "Be brave and trust in God's salvation," Moses told them.

God brings us into straits, that He may bring us to our knees.

It is always our duty and interest when we cannot get out of trouble yet to overcome our fears; let them quicken our prayers and endeavors, but not silence our faith and hope. "Stand still," think not to save yourselves by fighting or flying; wait for God's orders, and observe them. Compose yourselves, by confidence in God, into peaceful thoughts of the great salvation God is about to work for you. If God brings His people into straits, He will find a way to bring them out. Matthew Henry

And so He has done this for me, and I am eternally grateful and will keep His word hidden in my heart so that I will never forget how He has saved me and, therefore, I will not allow myself to be "mournfully sad" again.
