Close to His Heart

Isaiah 40:11 Like a shepherd, He tends His flock. He gathers the lambs in His arms, carries them close to His heart, and gently leads the mother sheep.
Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
Take a fresh look at this classic verse. The Lord is my Shepherd. This is a shepherd who will leave ninety-nine sheep to go and find the one lost. And when He finds the lost lamb, He rejoices with great joy, gathers him in His arms, and carries him close to His heart. (Matthew 18:10-14)
He cares for me, watches over me, and keeps me safe.
John 10:11 I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
John 10:14-16 I am the good Shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me, Just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that don't belong to this fold. I must lead these also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock and one Shepherd.
This Shepherd that carries us close to His heart is the same who hath measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighted the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance. Isaiah 40:12
Who could be more worthy of our confidence than this Omnipotent one?
Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep
May we know our Shepherd's voice and follow Him, proving ourselves His sheep.
