Armor Elements: The Helmet of Salvation

Ephesians 6:17: Take the helmet of salvation.

The believer's helmet of salvation is the most crucial armor for the Christian. All other armor is useless without the indwelling Holy Spirit that enters a believer at the moment of salvation. Salvation empowers believers to fight. It protects us from our weaknesses. Without salvation, there is no victory.

Take every thought captive and bring it into obedience to Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 We are living in the world, but we do not wage war in a worldly way. For the weapons of our warfare are not those of the world. Instead, they have the power of God to demolish fortresses. We tear down arguments and every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive in order to obey the Messiah.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to the world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may be able to determine what God's will is - what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.

Try this experiment.  Think the Philippians 4:8 way and see if you don't have a better day.  :)

Philippians 4:8 Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is fair, whatever is pure, whatever is acceptable, whatever is commendable, if there is anything of excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy - keep thinking about these things.
