Coolness and Balm – Peace and Serenity

“Breathe through the heats of our desire, Thy coolness and Thy balm.”

“Drop Thy still dews of quietness till all our striving cease; take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of Thy peace.”  John Greenleaf Whittier

Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and let a willing attitude control me.

Hope in God! In the morning, after a dark and troubled night, I seek His face and hope to be saved out of my sadness. I search for the Words that put scorn on my laughing enemies. I desire with all my heart for joy to be restored, for the chains to be removed, and my prison walls shaken. Hope then in God. Seek His presence and be restored. Sow in your heart His words which “grow laurels of future victories, the roses of coming joy, the lilies of approaching peace.” (Spurgeon)

I ask for my heart to be healed and restored, and I receive Your perfect peace. I ask for the oil of joy to be my portion. I put on the garment of praise, worshipping and honoring You. I receive freedom from all oppression in the name of Jesus!
