Holy and Pure
1 Peter 1:15-16 Be holy in every aspect of your life, just as the one who called you is holy. For it is written, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
God’s love is pure. His love is flawless, having no selfishness, wickedness, or sin within it.
God’s love is holy. The qualities of transcendence and purity characterize it.
God’s love is a majestic, sacred love that goes far beyond anything creatures can manifest. No shadow of evil covers the brightness of the pure glory of the love of God.
God’s holiness and purity are our ultimate standards, encompassing not only outward actions but also an inner transformation and dedication to God. The Holy Spirit enables believers to live a holy life. Through the Spirit, believers are empowered to overcome sin and grow in Christ-likeness.
Examples of holiness can be seen in acts of love, forgiveness, service to others, and obedience to God’s Word. This change of behavior begins on the inside with our attitude and mindset. When our inner thought life, our purpose, and our character are transformed into the image of Christ, our outward selves and our behavior will naturally alter. (2 Corinthians 3:18).
