A Door Easily Opened
May 13, 2025
Revelation 3:20 Look! I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eat with Me.
Jesus approaches us with mercy, ready to make a kind visit. However, He often finds our hearts closed to Him, shut off by ignorance, unbelief, and pride. When He discovers a heart that is closed, He does not immediately withdraw; instead, He patiently waits to be gracious. He employs all proper means to awaken sinners and encourage them to open their hearts to Him. He calls to us through His Word and gently knocks on our conscience through the promptings of His Spirit.
Those who choose to open their hearts to Him will experience His comforting presence. He will dine with them, accepting the good within them, enjoying the fruits of their lives while also bringing the best part of the feast with Him. Even if He finds only a meager offering, what He brings will more than compensate for any inadequacy. He provides fresh supplies of grace and comfort, stirring up new actions of faith, love, and joy. In this way, Christ and His repentant followers will enjoy a delightful communion with one another.
Don't miss out on so much by refusing to open your heart to Jesus Christ.
