Gospel Truth: The Essence of Deity

Gospel Truth: The Essence of Deity

The Essence of Deity - the beauty of God captured in bodily form.

Colossians 2:8-10 See to it that no one enslaves you through philosophy and empty deceit according to human tradition, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to the Messiah, because all the essence of Deity inhabits Him in bodily form. You have been filled by Him, who is the head of every ruler and authority.

Our hearts know in truth and understand in our spirits the beauty of the Lord; accordingly, we see the beauty of His moral and spiritual perfection - love, grace, and compassion. And we are made complete in and filled with this beauty, this essence of deity.

"And you are in Him, having been completely filled, full with the present result that you are in a state of fullness." Dr. Kenneth Wuest's Expanded Translation

This beauty is irresistible. The sanctified mind discerns the real beauty of holiness. In the Holy Scriptures, the mind of Christ and God in Christ are fully made known to us. It is a great privilege for Christians to have the mind of Christ revealed to them by His Spirit. They experience His sanctifying power in their hearts and bring forth good fruits.

Knowing He suffered for us, for our offenses, so that we could be saved and live with Him eternally - would you not see the beauty of His holiness and bow your heart, soul, and mind to this "veil torn" and draw near to God? Follow this Path!

Psalm 90:16-17 May Your marvelous deeds be revealed to Your servants as well as Your splendor to their children. May Your favor be on us, Lord our God; make our endeavors successful; yes, make our endeavors secure!

The fullness of God within the believer is a fountain of living water - a never-ending source of life, satisfaction, and spiritual abundance. All the essence of God's nature in its entirety dwells in Him. All that God is is fully revealed in Christ.

H.A. Ironside Selected Notes on Colossians: He could say, "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father." So that we may say without hesitation, if any ask as to the character of God, that God is exactly like Jesus, Jesus is the Christ, and in Christ all the fullness of Deity dwells in a body, so that when at last we come into the presence of the Father, we shall find in Him one known and loved before, not a stranger still unknown and possibly unknowable.  God has no other answer to all the questionings of the mind of man as to spiritual verities than Christ, and no other is needed, for Christ is the answer to them. He who refuses Christ refuses God's last word to mankind. He has said everything He has to say in sending Him into the world as the Giver of life and the propitiation for our sins. To turn from Him is to refuse the living incarnation of the Truth and to shut oneself up to error and delusion.

Follow this path:

Romans 3:23  All have sinned and come short of the glory of God

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His love for us by the fact that the Messiah died for us while we were still sinners.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in union with the Messiah Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in union with the Messiah Jesus.

Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
