 just a doctrine of future events\, but present realities in Jesus Himself.
 </p>\n<p>Our Lord Jesus declared Himself to be the Resurrection and the Li
 fe. He is\, in every sense\, the Resurrection—the source\, the substance
 \, the firstfruits\, and the cause of it. The redeemed soul lives on in ha
 ppiness after death\; when the Resurrection occurs\, both body and soul ar
 e kept from all evil forever.</p>\n<p>When we read or hear the words of Je
 sus Christ about the wonderful truths of the afterlife\, we should ask our
 selves: Do we truly believe this? The challenges and comforts of this pres
 ent time would have less impact on us if we believed in the realities of e
 ternity as we should.</p>\n<p>Jesus calls for us. He reaches out to us thr
 ough His word\, inviting us to Him. Those who\, in times of peace\, sit at
  His feet to learn from Him may\, with confidence\, come to Him in times o
 f trouble to seek His comfort.</p>\n<p>You do not have to wait until the R
 esurrection on the last day. Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life\; when
  He comes on the scene\, death is at an end.</p>\n
