\nSelf-control is controlling emotions\, desire s\, or expressions in one's behavior\, especially in difficult situations.
\nSelf-control refuses the indulgence of our foolish desires\, and
we find the liberty to live as we should.
\nSelf-control is a gift of
the Holy Spirit that frees us to enjoy good health\, good stewardship\, a
nd a clear conscience.
\nSelf-control leads to perseverance and holy
living.
Solomon preaches to us here in the entire chapter of Prove rbs 25 about the vanity of the world and that it cannot make us happy\, of the depravity of sin\, and its inevitable tendency to make us miserable. It shows that no created good can satisfy the soul and that happiness is t o be found in God alone\, and this principle must\, under the Holy Spirit' s teaching\, lead the heart to Christ Jesus.

al character with knowledge\, your knowledge with self-control\, your self
-control with endurance\, your endurance with godliness\, your godliness w
ith brotherly kindness and your brotherly kindness with love

ll of these promises into prayers for the transforming and purifying grace
of the Holy Spirit. Yield to Him and let Him work.
