Waiting on the Lord
January 20, 2025
Isaiah 40:31 But those who keep waiting on the Lord will renew their strength. Then they will soar like eagles; they'll run and not grow weary; they'll walk and not grow tired.
Being told to wait stirs one to be restless in spirit. Those told to wait are faint, weary, and without strength. We cannot fathom God's plans, so we should seek to submit without question to His providential dealings. When distress or suffering becomes prolonged, it is easy to think that God has forgotten or is indifferent to what one is going through. But this is always wrong. He is very concerned about His people and will give deliverance in His own time; until then, His grace is available to sustain and strengthen the soul so one may endure.
2 Corinthians 12:9 He has told me, "My grace is all you need, because My power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most happily boast about my weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties for the Messiah's power may rest on me.
He will supply the needed strength to meet every test He permits us to face. Refer everything to God and wait quietly upon Him. You will be given all needed strength to rise above depressing circumstances, enable you to sour heavenward as an eagle facing the sun, to run your race with patience, and to walk with God with renewed confidence and courage, knowing that you are over the object of His love and care.
