Spiritual Warfare

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The Christian armor is made to be worn at all times. We are engaged in spiritual warfare, so if you are not spiritually equipped, you will be a target, not just of human enemies, nor even our own corrupt nature, but an enemy with a thousand ways of deceiving unstable souls. Resist him, and he will flee.

James 4:7 (ISV): Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you.

James 4:8 tells us how to do this. Come close to God, and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you doubled-minded.

If we give way, he will gain ground. If we distrust the Lord, our leader, or the armor He has given us, we give him an advantage.

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Troubles neither cause nor show any reduction of His love. Whatever believers may be separated from, enough remains. No one can take Christ from the believer; no one can take the believer from Him, and that is enough.
