Pour Out Your Heart Like Water

Pour Out Your Heart Like Water

November 24, 2024

Luke 12:24 - Consider the raven. They do not plant or harvest; they don't even have a storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!

Since God hears the young ravens, will He not listen to you? Have you been praying for mercy but feel as though you have not received it? Have you gone on your knees in exceeding distress but still not found peace? Does sin still hang like a millstone around your neck? Do you sit in the valley of the shadow of death with no light of dawn upon you?

I encourage you never to give up. Pray and pray without ceasing.

Pour out your heart like water before the Lord.

The waves of turmoil and torment are great, but He has provided a way. Think of Jesus calming the storm, of Him walking on water to calm His disciples, of Peter walking on water to meet Him and then sinking, but Jesus reaches out to him and holds him up.
I will be Peter today, and when I start to sink - I will look up to Jesus and know that He will save me.

Lamentations 2:19: Get up and cry aloud in the night at the beginning of every hour. Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord!

Prayer itself is a salve for every sore, a remedy for every sickness. It is a directive to me to give my burdens to the Lord and then leave them with Him. His will be done.

Psalm 62:8 People, in every situation, put your trust in God; pour out your heart before Him; for God is a refuge for us.

Pour out your heart - trust in Him to guide you, especially when you are in doubt, to protect you when in danger, to supply you when you are in want, and to strengthen you for every good work. Pour it all out before Him. He is a refuge and shelter for all that come before Him and ask, seek and knock (Luke 11:9-10).

Psalm 126:5-6 Those who weep while they plant will sing for joy while they harvest. The one who goes out weeping, carrying a bag of seeds, will surely return with a joyful song, bearing sheaves from his harvest.

While we are in this world, there will always be a matter for prayer. I have found great sorrows to be succeeded by remarkable deliverance. Like a dream, Sorrow is gone, and the joy that follows is so great that it seems too good to be true. I store these times in my memory to never be forgotten. From trials and tribulations, from depression of spirit, and from temptations and doubt, I am set free, and my heart is grateful and amazed at the wonderful goodness of the Lord.
