Peace - My Heart is Fixed
March 8, 2025
Psalm 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I will awake early. I will praise Thee, O Lord, among the people, and sing unto Thee among the nations. Thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and Thy truth unto the clouds. Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let Thy glory be above all the earth.
Designed for the foot as the shoe is to the foot, the preparation - a Christians's spiritual readiness - is to the will. The man whose feet are well shod is not afraid to go through thick or thin, foul or fair, rocky paths or green pastures - all are alike to him.
When a person's will and heart are ready for any work, he is shod and armed against any trouble he must go through to complete that work. If David's heart had not been prepared for a crisis, if it had not had this preparation, he would have been trapped by fear instead of given to praise.
If we could also be brought into this peaceful and composed frame of mind, we have great reason to be thankful by the grace of God. Stand ready for God's service, whatever the cost. Be prepared to meet any trial and face tribulations as they come.
Titus 3:1 Remind believers to submit to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, and to be ready to do any honorable kind of work.
Romans 5:1-5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we glory in tribulations, also knowing that tribulation works with patience. And patience, experience, and experience hope and hope make us not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given unto us.
How can I attain an unworldly spirit? How can I be strong in faith?
Give me eyes to see into the true nature and value of things
that judges them as God does.
