Obtain Mercy and Find Grace

Obtain Mercy and Find Grace

February 14, 2025

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because the Lord has anointed Me; He has sent Me to bring good news to the oppressed and to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners.

Jesus Christ's mission was to comfort all who mourn and seek Him for comfort. See the gracious way He performs these tasks:

Matthew 5:3 How blessed are those who are destitute in spirit, because the kingdom from heaven belongs to them!

Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 9:36 While traveling throughout the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every illness. He saw the crowds; he was deeply moved with compassion for them because they were troubled and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

He is a meek King who will admit mourners into His presence, a King of the poor and afflicted with a majestic heart of mercy and compassion. He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and One who understands temptation (Hebrews 2:18)

There is one God. There is also one mediator between God and human beings - a human, The Messiah Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5)

He died so that He might heal our souls and save us.

Hebrews 4:16 So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
