Crown of Glory
1 Peter 5:4 Then, when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the victor's crown of glory that will never fade away.
"Well done, good and trustworthy servant!" (Matthew 25:21)
What does it take to hear these words?
Going back a few verses to 1 Peter 5:2, we get a clue. Be shepherds of God's flock that is among you, watching over it, not because you must but because you want to, and not greedily beat eagerly as God desires.
Shepherds of God's Flock have a great example to follow - the Chief Shepherd.
Psalm 22 The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep
Psalm 23 The Great Shepherd watches over the sheep
Psalm 24 The Chief Shepherd is coming again
Galatians 1:5 To Him be glory forever and ever!
Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.
We lead by serving, and we serve by suffering. This is the way Jesus did it, and this is the only way that truly glorifies Him.
