The Scarlet Thread of Redemption

Ephesians 1:7 In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace.

The scarlet thread of redemption is a symbol of the blood of Jesus Christ and parallels the Passover Lamb. This thread is woven in God’s Word from Adam and Eve in Genesis all the way through to the Throne of God in Revelation when The Lamb as it had been slain receives the scroll with seven seals.

The pardoned sinner gives all the praise of his salvation to his gracious Father. His love appointed this method of redemption, spared not His own Son, and brought believers to hear and embrace this salvation. Such rich grace it is that He provided such a surety of His own Son, freely to delivered Him up for our redemption.

Song of Solomon 4:3 Your lips are like a scarlet thread and your mouth is lovely.

The Lord expresses His delight in the one He has redeemed to Himself by His precious blood. Gladly confess that you owe everything for eternity to that precious atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you consider that your lips are this scarlet thread, be constantly aware of them only weaving lovely words that speak of the story of redemption – not only in words but actions. Weave redemption into your very being so that it exudes from your character and remember that every spoken word coming from these lips will reflect the color of your heart.
